Second Grade

Bryant Mrs. Bryant

I am Nancy Bryant. I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education from Western Oregon University. I have had the oppurtunity to be a classroom teacher for 27 years and most recently an instructional coach for five years. A move from Oregon to North Carolina brings me back to my happy place, a 2nd grade classroom! Teaching gives me purpose and rewards me with happiness. I believe this year will be my best year yet!

Collins Mrs. Collins

Hello, my name is Shirley Collins and I am proud to be a part of the 2nd grade teaching team! I received my Bachelor's in Arts from St. Andrews Presbyterian College. I believe that all students are unique and need a teacher that caters to their individual needs in a safe and stimulating environment. I want to create a classroom where students can flourish and explore to reach their full potential. My goal is also to create a warm, loving environment, so students feel safe to take risks and express themselves.

Parkes Mrs. Klimek

Lechthaler Mrs. Lechthaler

Hi! I'm Mrs. Lechthaler, and I am one of the second grade teachers here at Aberdeen Elementary. I am originally from VA where I attended the College of William & Mary and completed my student teaching as well. I spent my first year as a teacher in Columbus, GA teaching fourth grade ELA. While this may only be my second year, I love second grade and am so excited to be working with the wonderful children here at Aberdeen. I believe in holding all my students to high expectations, instituting research-based practices, and most importantly, reminding these kids that they are unconditionally loved and extremely important. My goal is to inspire them to pursue life-long learning, learn to take personal responsibility for their futures, and help them to be their absolute best selves.
