Mrs. McGraw
Hello, my name is Vanesa McGraw and I'm excited to be returning as a member of the Kindergarten teaching team. I have been married for 15 years and I have 4 children. I obtained my Associate in Arts Degree from Sandhills Community College and my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from St. Andrews Presbyterian College. As a former Aberdeen student myself (k-8), I am honored to have the unique opportunity to give back to the community that I grew up in. Being an educator means you get to help shape a student's self-esteem and confidence, as well as help to encourage and inspire their career aspirations. I love the idea of setting the tone of a child's attitude towards school.
Mrs. Morrison
Hello! My name is Tynika Morrison. I am delighted to serve and be a part of the Kindergarten team. I have been in the education system for 25 years serving in different capacities. I graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Master's in School Administration. I truly enjoy working with children and I am excited that I have the oppurtunity to work with the entire AES community. I am an educator who holds age-appropriate expectations, for it is my strong belief that ALL children can learn NO MATTER their age if it's taught. This includes daily life skills such as responsibilities. The key to that is finding each child's learning style, connect and build relationships with them, and believe in them at all times! My "why" in education centers fully believing in, supporting, extending compassion, and understanding all students AND their families. It's my passion to teach children that it does not matter what opposition they encounter- they can yet indeed succeed with the righ tools. I stand on authenticity, true relationships, and being intentional. This is going to be a SUPER year because we are all working towards a common goal and that is to give your childd the best chance to be ALL they can be!
Miss Elseth
I have known since I was about 3 years old that I wanted to be a teacher. I remember asking my grandparents to take me to the teacher store so I could buy workbooks and we could play school. It is my third year teaching and there is no doubt in my mind that I am exactly where I am meant to be. I strive to be a positive role model for any student that not only comes into my classroom, but comes through the school doors. It just want to make kindergarten a fun and comfortable place for my students to come and learn. I can't wait to see what's in store!!
Miss Ivey
My name is Emily Ivey. N.C. State University is my alma mater! St. Andrews University fulfills my licensure in education. My purpose is to show love to my students daily. I want to ensure to them that they matter! They are important! I want to empower them to dream big and aspire to be anything they want to be.
Miss Novikoff
Greetings! My name is Arianna Novikoff and I teach Kindergarten. I have been in the education field for 14 years now. I begun as a substitute teacher. Through the years I have experienced a variety of learning opportunities; working with Exceptional Children, co-teaching as an Instructional Assistant, working with first graders as a Reading Interventionist, chaired a Positive Behavior Program, and later became an In-School Disciplinary Director. I graduated from Western Governors University in 2016 with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Kindergarten is the love of my life! My passion is to help others understand new concepts and points of view, using empathy and patience. The moment I see the "lightbulb turn on over their head", is the best feeling in the world to me. My mission is to make a positive impact in the lives of others and be of service to anyone in need. Teaching is my happy place.
